NOTICE TO USER: PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. I am using the Windows XP OEM disk that was provided with the laptop.End User License and Subscription Services Agreement I have thought about dismantling the Dell Inspiron 2650 and fudging another drive in there as a temporary measure, but my experience of laptop deconstruction has been destructive, so I would rather not. I have been through the Microsoft articles, but there appears to be a continual dependency on the need for a CD drive on the machine that is being rebuilt. A plus factor is that I have a floppy drive that works (occasionally). The problem is that I keep getting this error once the XP setup has ran through a basic file copy, rebooted and I attempt to start a fresh Windows XP installation. I have been trying to install XP by running the setup from the setup files which I copied over to the HD from a CD using another system.
